MID-TOWN HOTEL NEEDING RESTORATION
ARBUCKLE NEEDS A COMMUNITY CENTER

Dear Friend,

The Arbuckle Community Foundation is alive and continuing its effort to design, fund and convert the long vacant Arbuckle Hotel into a new Community Center serving the people of the village of Arbuckle in many and varied ways. The 15,000 square foot building will be designed to serve the most people while remaining financially sound.

Proposed facilities include:
1.    Restoring a 90 year old landmark to match the two parks that our sister nonprofit, the Arbuckle Revitalization Committee (ARC) built for public use on two of the opposing midtown corners,
2.    Providing an auditorium, that is not now available for public use within 30 miles, for family gatherings and amateur and teenage theater productions.
3.    Class rooms for extracurricular evening and weekend classes for students of all ages.  Adequate rooms are non-existent and the public school classrooms are not a viable option.
4.    Facilities for commercial endeavors yet to be determined that will provide rent to help defray overhead costs.  As a California nonprofit corporation the foundation is free to provide facilities to help the largest numbers of people on a financially sound manner without taxes or levies.

READ-ALL-ABOUT-IT in the book A Community Center Proposal, available upon request.
A $10.00 Donation to cover the cost of the book would be appreciated.

However, nothing is free and the foundation needs financial and administrative assistance while they plan and await the arrival of the really big donor who will make purchase of the building possible. To date the burden has been carried by a few including:
1.    The Turner Construction Company (SAC) provided the funds for incorporation and a structural survey of the building at 5th and Hall Streets.
2.    Two dozen people who have helped with administration and five citizens who donated cash for ongoing expenses.

Volunteer helpers and those who would like to help financially are requested to contact a board member.

Please leave checks at the Umpqua Bank, 540 Amanda Street, Arbuckle or use the PAYPAL donate button on the top right corner of this page.

Sincerely,

Bruno F. Pitts, Secretary
